M/s Computax Consultants in association with British Association for Cemeteries in South Asia (BACSA) is now in the process of digitising the Bhowanipore Burial Registers in Kolkata. BACSA is a UK based non – governmental organisation, set up in 1977 to care for British graves in South Asia. The majority of BACSA’s work takes place in India, although the organisation has also carried out projects in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Burma, Malaysia and other places. BACSA’s remit extends to wherever the East India Company set foot, and it deals with British burials up to 1947.
Digitizing of cemetery records is now in full swing to facilitate search by name and occupation. Europeans, Eurasians, Anglo-Indians. Rich and poor. Famous and infamous. All those whose living memories are lost in the midst of time. Find them through our Pottah (deed) records or Burial records search or simply enjoy your journey back to the past with us. |
